At Sunset Sleepers, we understand that reliable, efficient delivery is essential to keeping your retaining wall or landscaping project on track. That’s why we offer flexible delivery services across Victoria and interstate, with clear pricing and proactive communication every step of the way.
Delivery Areas
We proudly deliver concrete sleepers and steel posts throughout Victoria, including metropolitan Melbourne and most regional areas. Interstate delivery options are also available upon request.
We deliver from two main depots:
- Officer, VIC (South-East Melbourne)
- Tottenham, VIC (Western Melbourne)
Your delivery fee will depend on which depot your order is dispatched from, as well as the delivery address, order size, and vehicle requirements.

Delivery Options
We offer a range of delivery methods tailored to suit different site conditions, access limitations, and unloading requirements.Â
Truck with Forklift Delivery (Most Common Option)
Our most popular delivery method uses a truck fitted with a rough-terrain forklift, offering flexible and convenient unloading on most sites.
- Capacity: 8 to 14 tonnes per load
- Access: Suitable for most suburban streets and driveways
- Unloading: The driver unloads with a forklift and places the packs where safely accessible on your property
- Best For: Residential, commercial, or construction sites without their own unloading equipment
Crane Truck Delivery
Crane trucks are ideal for deliveries to sites with limited access or where forklift delivery is not practical.
- Capacity: Varies by truck, generally up to 8-12 tonnes
- Access: Products are lifted off the truck using a crane and typically placed near the curb or driveway
- Unloading: Products are lifted off the truck using a crane and typically placed near the curb or driveway
- Best For: Properties with fences, tight spaces, or no clear unloading area for a forklift
Semi Truck Delivery (Customer to Unload)
This is the most efficient option for large orders, provided you have suitable unloading equipment on-site (e.g., forklift).
- Capacity: Up to 23 tonnes
- Unloading: The customer is responsible for unloading the truck
- Benefits: Fewer deliveries, reduced transport costs, and lower environmental impact
- Best For: Commercial sites, large-scale projects, or customers with their own machinery
Small Truck or Ute Delivery (Hand Unload by Client)
For small orders or locations with very limited access or to reduce delivery costs, we offer delivery via a small truck or ute. Please note:
- Unloading: The customer MUST unload the products by hand
- Capacity: Up to 2-3 tonnes
- Driver Policy: For OH&S reasons, the driver cannot assist with unloading
- Best For: Small residential jobs or restricted-access sites where machinery can’t be used
- Important: Ensure you have adequate help on-site to unload safely and quickly
Things to Know Before Delivery
To ensure a smooth delivery experience, please consider the following:
- Site Access: Let us know if there are access challenges (e.g. narrow driveways, inclines, no turning room). Notify us of any steep driveways, soft ground, low-hanging wires, or tight spaces
- Unloading Area: Ensure access is clear and safe for delivery vehicles and unloading.
- Contactable Recipient: Ensure someone is on-site to receive the delivery or provide clear instructions for unattended drop-off.
- Hand-unload deliveries: Please ensure you have adequate help on-site
We’ll send you a delivery window confirmation via SMS or email the day before your scheduled delivery, and our driver will contact you directly if required.
Delivery Timeframe
We aim to deliver your order within 1 to 4 business days after full payment has been received and delivery is booked. Express and urgent deliveries may be available — please contact us to discuss options.
Depot Pick-Up Option
Prefer to pick up your order?
You’re welcome to collect your products directly from either of our depots:
- Officer Depot: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 3:30pm
- Tottenham Depot: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 3:30pm
Wet Weather & Site Conditions
To protect our drivers and your products, deliveries may be rescheduled in the event of severe weather or unsafe site conditions. We’ll notify you as early as possible to arrange an alternative time.End-of-year Delayed Delivery Times
Usually our last deliveries are on the Thursday prior to the Xmas break, always check with us as much in advance if you want your sleepers delivered within the last weeks of the year.Missed Deliveries or Site Rejections
If a delivery is attempted and cannot be completed due to site access, unsafe conditions, or absence of instructions for unattended drop-off, a re-delivery fee may apply.
